The team at Atlassian have just released version 4.0 of their fantastic Wiki platform, Confluence.

You can find out more information here: Faster. Richer. Simpler. A new standard in content collaboration.

We have already downloaded the upgrade (as we have been using Confluence for a year or so now for documentation) and installed it without a hitch.

We have our instance running on a new Mac Mini server under Lion, using Apache as a front-end web server and SSL security.

The upgrade took around 5 minutes, and thus far, no issues.

If you are looking for a great collaboration tool, with fantastic support and regular updates, lots of built-in features and tonnes of plugins, check out Atlassian and their Confluence product.

The best part – for small businesses, just getting started, licenses begin at $10/year.

A customer just asked about the new conversation view in OS X Lion’s Mail.app.

The messages are all displayed together, and there is a link to display the related content at the bottom of each message.

There is a menu option under the View menu, “Show Related Messages”, which will put your sent items in-line.

By default, the display of related messages is fleeting — as soon as you select a message outside the thread or a different mailbox, the related messages no longer appear, even if you reselect the original message.

If you prefer Mail to display related messages all the time, no matter which message you select, choose Mail -> Preferences, click Viewing, and select Include Related Messages.

Note that this is a global setting; you can’t turn it on for just certain mailboxes or messages.

Some of this post was found on Taming OS X Lion Mail.

After spending some time working on IPv6 using the MikroTik, I thought I would expand my horizons and suss out other networking devices that might lend themselves to IPv6 connectivity… initially with tunnels, but then also as a directly connected device.

A FortiGate 60B looked like a good place to start.

There is a lot of documentation on the web about where to start and how to get going, but nothing seems to be up-to-date with respect to the latest version of FortiOS 4.2. You can find the best guide, minus the updates, here: http://www.sixxs.net/wiki/Fortigate

The instructions for 3.00MR7 work OK for FortiOS 4.2.

Once configured, the tunnel came up without a hitch and IPv6 was working via the FortiGate.

The UI is a little different with IPv6 and not everything appears in the GUI as you would hope, so rely on the CLI as much as possible!
